The “SMOKE AND SPOTLIGHT” compilation series started as a cooperation between X-Pop Society<\/a> and death-rock.de, but turned into a sole death-rock.de project soon.<\/p>\n

The goal of the series is to provide a free promoton platform for new bands from all over the world and at the same time raise a little money to make gigs at death-rock.de events possible (like Outsider-Party or messthetics) possible – these event unfortunately usually not bring in the money it costs to organise them.<\/p>\n

The compilations came out between 2006 and 2011 in spring (always before WGT) and were sold for only 6 EUR each. So far there have been six volumes with a total of 121 tracks from 27 countries.<\/p>\n

The CDs are sold out for a long time already – but they are still available as a digital download on Bandcamp!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In May 2023, finally a new SMOKE AND SPOTLIGHT Compilation was released with Vol. 7 – this time only on Bandcamp and with the proceeds going to the European Association for Palliative Care<\/a>.<\/p>\n
